The Cathedral of San Cristóbal de las Casas is located north of the main town square „Plaza 31 de marzo”, popularly called the Zocalo, as most of the main squares in Mexican cities. The „Plaza de la Paz” is in front of the Cathedral or Peace Square, where the cross is located.
