Ołtarz Przebaczenie / The Altar of Forgiveness

Jednym z 5 ołtarzy w Katedrze w Mexico City jest Ołtarz Przebaczenia. Zobaczyć go można przed nawą główną. Podobnie jak w przypadku Ołtarza Królów, także Ołtarz Przebaczenia został wykonany przez hiszpańskiego architekta Jerónimo Balbása. Są dwie legendy związane z tym ołtarzem. Pierwsza z nich głosi, że przed Ołtarz Przebaczenia prowadzeni byli skazani na śmierć przez Świętą Inkwizycję. Tu podobno modlili się za swoje dusze przed egzekucjami.

One of the 5 altars in the Cathedral in Mexico City is the Altar of Forgiveness. You can see it in front of the main nave. As in the case of the Altar of the Kings, the Altar of Forgiveness was made by the Spanish architect Jerónimo Balbás. There are two legends related to this altar. The first of them says that sentenced to death by the Holy Inquisition were led in front of the Altar of Forgiveness. Here, apparently, they prayed for their souls before the executions.
